Welcome Dr. Kit McKeown!

Bristol Veterinary Service (BVS) is pleased to announce an alliance with Merritt and Associates Equine Hospital to cooperatively share the Sports Medicine skills of Kit McKeown VDM.  Dr. McKeown first joined our veterinary team in 2011 on a part time basis. 

Looking toward the future needs of our equine athletes, we are pleased Dr. McKeown will continue to provide the advanced lameness and sports medicine our clients have come to appreciate.

Welcome to Bristol Veterinary Service

Established in 1971, Bristol Veterinary Service S.C. is a six veterinarian ambulatory practice dedicated to equine care.  Services are routinely provided to clients in both Lake and McHenry counties in Illinois, and to Kenosha, Racine, and eastern Walworth counties in Wisconsin.  Services are occasionally provided outside of these areas on a case by case basis. 

Services provided by Bristol Veterinary Service, S.C., include herd health and preventative care, dentistry, digital radiography and ultrasonography, lameness and performance evaluation, pre-purchase evaluation, upper airway endoscopy, reproductive services, and acupuncture.  Our patient base is diverse and includes horses competing at the international level as well as pleasure and trail horses.

Office hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays. Emergency services are available twenty-four hours per day, including holidays and weekends, for our established clients.  A professional answering service handles all incoming calls during non-business hours, and relays all emergencies to the on-call doctor.

Bristol Veterinary Service S.C. remembers Fred J.Culbert.  Fred passed away on March 2, 2010.
